Sin Yuan Steel, a Chinese-Kazakh company, is coming to the logical conclusion of an investment project to expand capacities, the launch of which is scheduled for the end of summer. With the start of production of steel and long products, the company will strengthen its position in the market both within the country and abroad. In August of this year, the company plans to put into operation a new production complex for steel smelting and the production of various types of long products with a capacity of 500 thousand tons, as Metal Expert became known. The total investment in the project amounted to more than $40 million. It should be noted that the new equipment was installed on the basis of the existing metallurgical enterprise “Amir-A” LLP in the industrial zone “Ontustik” in the city of Shymkent. With the launch of the new complex, the production potential of Sin Yuan Steel will increase by more than 10 times. The product range includes rebar, wire rod, circle, square and shaped rolled products (corner, channel). It should be noted that the manufacturer plans to supply semi-finished products and finished products both to the domestic market and for export. Sin Yuan Steel’s focus will be mainly on the CIS countries. “We have already signed preliminary contracts for the supply of finished products. The products will be competitive both in terms of price and quality,” the source added. According to customs statistics, in the first quarter of 2018, Kazakhstani producers exported about 52 thousand tons of long products in total, which is 33% more than in the same period last year.
